Skillgine Training Refund and Cancellation Policy
Effective date: 17 September 2026
Skillgine is committed to delivering practical, high-quality Microsoft Copilot, AI, and business productivity training. We understand that plans can change. This policy explains when a registration may be cancelled, transferred, rescheduled, or refunded.
This policy applies to training and related services purchased directly from Skillgine, including:
- Self-paced online courses
- Live virtual training
- Public workshops and bootcamps
- In-person training
- Private business and team training
- Customized training programmes
- Training packages that include coaching, assessments, implementation support, or consulting
If a proposal, statement of work, order form, partner agreement, or written contract contains different cancellation terms, the terms in that document will take priority.
1. Self-Paced Online Training
Refund eligibility
A customer may request a refund for a self-paced course within seven calendar days of purchase, provided that:
- Less than 20% of the course has been accessed or completed;
- No course certificate has been issued;
- No downloadable training package, prompt library, template collection, workbook, or other substantial digital resource has been downloaded; and
- The customer has not transferred or shared access with another person.
Once a substantial portion of the digital content has been accessed, completed, or downloaded, the purchase becomes non-refundable.
Duplicate purchases and technical issues
Skillgine will review refund requests involving:
- An accidental duplicate purchase;
- Incorrect enrolment caused by a payment or website error;
- Inability to access the course because of a technical problem within Skillgine’s platform; or
- A course that materially differs from its published description.
Before issuing a refund for a technical issue, Skillgine may first attempt to restore access, provide replacement access, or offer another reasonable solution.
2. Live Public Training, Workshops, and Bootcamps
This section applies to scheduled training that individuals or businesses can register to attend.
Cancellation by the participant
If a participant cancels:
- More than 14 calendar days before the training date: The participant may receive a full refund, less any non-refundable third-party registration or payment-processing fees.
- Between 7 and 14 calendar days before the training date: The participant may receive a 50% refund or transfer the full registration value to another eligible Skillgine session.
- Fewer than 7 calendar days before the training date: No refund will normally be provided. The participant may request a one-time transfer to another session, subject to availability.
- After the training has started: No refund or transfer will be provided.
All transfer requests must be received before the original training session begins.
Participant substitutions
A registered participant may send another person from the same organization in their place at no additional charge. Skillgine must receive the substitute participant’s name and contact information before the training begins.
A substitution does not change the original registration terms and does not reset the cancellation period.
No-shows
Participants who do not attend a scheduled session and have not contacted Skillgine in advance will be considered no-shows.
No-shows are not eligible for a refund, credit, or complimentary transfer.
If the absence resulted from a documented emergency or other exceptional circumstance, Skillgine may offer a transfer or credit at its discretion.
3. Private Business and Team Training
This section applies when Skillgine reserves a trainer or delivery team for a specific organization.
Deposit and booking confirmation
A deposit may be required to reserve the training date. Unless otherwise stated in the applicable proposal or agreement:
- The training date is not confirmed until the required deposit has been received;
- A deposit becomes non-refundable once Skillgine begins scheduling, programme preparation, customization, technical setup, or resource allocation; and
- The remaining balance must be paid according to the invoice, proposal, or statement of work.
Cancellation by the client
Unless different terms are stated in writing:
- More than 21 calendar days before the training date: Amounts paid may be refunded, less the deposit, completed work, customized materials, and non-refundable third-party expenses.
- Between 10 and 21 calendar days before the training date: Up to 50% of the training fee may be refunded. The client may alternatively request a one-time rescheduling.
- Fewer than 10 calendar days before the training date: The training fee is non-refundable because the trainer, preparation time, and delivery capacity have already been reserved.
If work completed before cancellation exceeds the deposit, Skillgine may invoice the client for the additional completed work and committed expenses.
Rescheduling private training
A client may request one rescheduling without a rescheduling fee if the request is received at least 10 calendar days before the scheduled training date.
The replacement session must normally:
- Be scheduled within three months of the original date;
- Use substantially the same training scope and participant group; and
- Be scheduled on a date when an appropriate Skillgine trainer is available.
Requests received fewer than 10 calendar days before the session may be subject to a rescheduling fee to cover trainer commitments, venue costs, travel reservations, customized preparation, and other expenses.
Repeated rescheduling may be treated as a cancellation.
4. Customized Training, Assessments, and Consulting-Supported Programmes
Fees associated with work already completed are non-refundable. This may include:
- Discovery meetings;
- Copilot readiness assessments;
- Training-needs analysis;
- Curriculum development;
- Custom exercises and use cases;
- Prompt libraries and workflow design;
- Branded documents and training materials;
- Microsoft 365 environment review;
- Trainer preparation;
- Project planning;
- AI agent, SharePoint agent, or Copilot workflow design; and
- Consulting or implementation services.
If a customer cancels a customized engagement, Skillgine will determine the amount earned based on completed work, reserved resources, approved milestones, and non-cancellable expenses.
Any unused prepaid amount remaining after these charges may be refunded or credited in accordance with the applicable proposal or agreement.
5. Training Materials and Intellectual Property
Refunds do not permit a customer to continue using Skillgine materials.
When a refund is issued, the customer must stop accessing and using any related:
- Course recordings;
- Presentations;
- Workbooks;
- Templates;
- Guides;
- Prompt libraries;
- Training exercises;
- Digital downloads; and
- Other proprietary Skillgine resources.
Receiving a refund does not transfer ownership of, or grant continuing rights to, Skillgine’s intellectual property.
6. Cancellation or Rescheduling by Skillgine
Skillgine may cancel, postpone, or reschedule training because of:
- Trainer illness or unavailability;
- Insufficient enrolment;
- Severe weather;
- Travel interruption;
- Venue unavailability;
- Technology or platform failure;
- Safety concerns;
- Government restrictions; or
- Other circumstances outside Skillgine’s reasonable control.
If Skillgine cancels a programme and does not provide a suitable replacement session, the customer may choose:
- A full refund of the amount paid for the cancelled training; or
- A credit for another Skillgine programme.
If Skillgine reschedules a session and the new date is not reasonably suitable for the participant, the participant may request a refund or training credit.
Skillgine is not responsible for indirect expenses such as lost wages, lost business opportunities, independently booked travel, accommodation, childcare, or other costs incurred by a participant.
7. Changes to Trainers, Content, or Delivery Format
Skillgine may make reasonable changes to:
- The assigned trainer or facilitator;
- The sequence of topics;
- Training examples or exercises;
- Supporting materials;
- The training platform;
- The venue; or
- The delivery method.
A reasonable change that does not materially reduce the value or learning objectives of the programme will not normally qualify for a refund.
If a material change significantly affects the advertised nature of the training, Skillgine will provide an appropriate solution, which may include a transfer, credit, rescheduling option, or refund.
8. Promotions, Discounted Registrations, and Partner Sales
Registrations purchased through a promotion, discount, affiliate, sales partner, association, or third-party platform remain subject to this policy unless different terms were clearly disclosed at the time of purchase.
Refunds will not exceed the amount actually paid by the customer.
Promotional bonuses, complimentary resources, discount codes, and free add-ons have no cash value and are not independently refundable.
If training was purchased from a third-party platform, the customer may also be required to follow that platform’s refund procedure.
9. Training Credits
Unless otherwise stated in writing:
- Training credits are valid for 12 months from the date they are issued;
- Credits may only be applied to eligible Skillgine training;
- Credits are not redeemable for cash;
- Credits may not be combined with certain promotions;
- Any price difference for the replacement programme must be paid by the customer; and
- Unused credit expires at the end of its validity period.
Skillgine may approve an extension in exceptional circumstances.
10. How to Request a Cancellation, Transfer, or Refund
Requests must be submitted in writing and should include:
- The purchaser’s full name;
- The participant’s name, if different;
- The organization’s name;
- The course or programme name;
- The scheduled training date;
- The invoice, order, or registration number;
- The reason for the request; and
- Whether the customer is requesting a refund, credit, transfer, substitution, or rescheduling.
The date Skillgine receives the written request will be used to determine eligibility.
Submitting a request does not automatically guarantee approval. Skillgine will review the registration status, course access, downloaded materials, completed work, applicable agreement, and timing of the request.
11. Approved Refunds
Approved refunds will normally be returned to the original payment method.
The final amount may be reduced by:
- Non-refundable deposits;
- Work already completed;
- Customized programme development;
- Materials already delivered or accessed;
- Non-refundable payment-processing charges, where permitted;
- Travel, venue, platform, or third-party costs already committed; and
- Other charges disclosed in the applicable proposal or agreement.
The processing time after approval may depend on the payment provider or financial institution.
12. Exceptional Circumstances
Skillgine recognizes that serious and unexpected situations may occur. Customers may submit supporting information when requesting special consideration for circumstances such as:
- A medical emergency;
- Bereavement;
- A natural disaster;
- A serious family emergency; or
- Another event outside the participant’s reasonable control.
Skillgine will review such requests fairly and individually. A transfer or training credit may be offered when a cash refund is not available.
13. Misconduct and Removal from Training
Skillgine may remove a participant who:
- Harasses or threatens another person;
- Seriously disrupts a session;
- Shares confidential or inappropriate material;
- Records training without permission;
- Shares course access or proprietary materials without authorization;
- Attempts to misuse Skillgine systems; or
- Violates the applicable code of conduct, terms of sale, or programme rules.
A participant removed for serious misconduct will not normally receive a refund.
14. Legal and Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to remove or limit a customer’s rights under applicable consumer-protection law.
This policy should be read together with Skillgine’s Terms and Conditions of Sale, Privacy Policy, Accessibility Policy, and any programme-specific agreement.
15. Contact Skillgine
Questions or written requests concerning refunds, cancellations, transfers, substitutions, or rescheduling should be sent through the contact information published on the Skillgine website.
